At 6:00 am on August 29, as the first trains departed simultaneously from Yunlong Station, Min'an East Road Station, Yunfei Road Station, and Yufan Station, Ningbo Metro Line 7, constructed with CASCO’s participation, officially began revenue service. This adds another major north-south transportation artery for Ningbo.

Ningbo Metro Line 7 runs from Yufan Station in Zhenhai District in the north to Yunlong Station in Yinzhou District in the south. With a total length of 39.4 kilometers, 25 stations, and maximum operating speed of 100 km/h, it is the city’s first rapid metro line. Upon opening, the line will connect with existing Lines 1–5, as well as the future Lines 6, Cixi Line, and Xiangshan Line, further enhancing the interconnectivity of Ningbo’s metro network.

As a GoA4 fully automatic driverless line, Ningbo Metro Line 7 has CASCO as the consistency coordinator for fully automatic operation, as well as the supplier of a complete signaling system solution. This solution integrates CASCO’s self-developed core technologies and applications, including the ATP (Automatic Train Protection) system, ATO (Automatic Train Operation) system, all-electronic computer-based interlocking system, domestic LEU system, active obstacle detection system, and a multi-line, multi-discipline intelligent operation and maintenance platform. This represents a culmination of innovative technologies in the field of fully automatic operation, ensuring safer and more efficient operation for Line 7 while accelerating Ningbo’s digital and intelligent transformation in urban rail transit.

The successful launch of this project marks a new milestone in the collaboration between CASCO and Ningbo Metro Group. From the inaugural partnership on Ningbo Metro Line 1, deepened cooperation on Line 2, to the innovative breakthroughs on Line 7, CASCO has witnessed Ningbo’s leap from a single metro line to a dense network over the past decade.
